Lucky!!! How was it?

I haven't been to a concert since.. I'm kinda dying for a live show.

It was awesome! It felt euphoric being there, like being on drugs. Weezer and Fall Out Boy had fantastic performances. People went nuts for Green Day although that ain't my thing, and there was a decent opening act, The Interrupters.

The tour was delayed because of corona, we got the tickets two years ago. I was really missing live shows too, this was my first.

You go to live shows sober?! 😘

I’m glad you had a great time dude!! I never really got into FoB or Greenday - I can see why people like them. I just could never stand Pete Wentz for some reason lol. I like Weezer tho! The interrupters were good? Never heard of them, I’m gonna check em out!

And got damn @ having bought the tickets two years ago! I know a lot of bands that had shows planned straight up cancelled and refunded. So that was cool of them that they didn’t do that. But two years... must have felt good finally letting that musical nut fly!

Btw, since you like FoB, peep this song, you prolly never heard of it - it was originally meant for their new album but they gave it to blink lol Patrick wrote one of the verses (forget which) as well as the chorus, which was supposed to be for a new FOB song, but he gave it to blink.

They built this whole song around the chorus, so it really is a fall out boy song with some blink members performing it lol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fof6vYITQ3w

But damn dude that’s awesome - can’t wait to go to my first corona era show. I can tell you had a great time haha, I miss that feeling and excitement. I miss feeling the music in your body/bones/soul, and moving in unison to a bunch of strangers around you who love the songs for the same reasons as you.

Edit: fuck autocorrect.

You go to live shows sober

I mean, I was on drugs, but it felt like being on better drugs. But I do go fairly often to live shows sober or soberish, they search you here before entering the venue. Beer was $16 a glass and there was no smoking or vaping allowed. I was on ephedrine to stay awake, kratom for pain, and I brought a delta 8 vape I snuck puffs from but that doesn't make me feel euphoric. Probably helped, but the concert was awesome.

The interrupters were good? Never heard of them, I’m gonna check em out!

I liked them, they were definitely good for an opening act. I think the sound tech fucked up their settings. All the channels for that band seemed smooshed together, if that makes sense, that's not a field I know a ton about but I'm listening to their studio recordings now and it sounds better than live.

Btw, since you like FoB

I didn't even know I liked them, I only really heard the two songs that get on the radio and I was pleasantly surprised their stuff didn't all sound like that. I like Blink 182, saw them many years ago I think promoting the album after Enema of the State. That songs not bad.

I know a lot of bands that had shows planned straight up cancelled and refunded. So that was cool of them that they didn’t do that. But

We were supposed to see the Lumineers too but they cancelled. Their next tour is in '22 in Europe, so no idea if I'll have a chance to see them. And I think the wife wants to see AJR. I just want to see Cage the Elephant sometime before I die.

Hell yeah! It was a great time. Made me think of Panpsychism / panexperientialism, a reality created through a shared experience.

I didn't realize quite how much I missed concerts till I went to one again. Thank god we don't have lockdowns in Texas anymore, that'd drive me nuts still not being able to do anything. Good luck.
