She came out of the woods one day and appeared malnourished, like no one else was feeding her. I saw her eating stale bread I had thrown out for the wild animals. If a cat will eat old bread, it must be desperate. We opened our door to her and she came in. Years later she still has no desire to go back out and she is the fattest cat we have.

About five years ago. I loved that cat so much. I remember when we got him(he was already 2 years old), poor thing hid in the closet for three days. But he warmed up to me pretty quickly. Not long after, he would demand cuddles when I got back from work by meowing endlessly while leading me to the couch, jumping on it and purring loudly. Awesome little cuddle buddy.

I agree with your wife about refusing to kill my own pets, as I let God be the judge when it's time to die. I would not be against pain medication, though. But you were very kind to comfort your cat at the end by allowing her to sit on your lap. May God bless you for your compassion and show you kindness in your time of need.

When my Miffy died, she was very weak, but she was friendly (to me) right up until the end. She looked pathetic as she lost weight and her eyes began to sink back into her head a little, but she did not appear to be in pain, which I am thankful for. She was the first cat my wife and I had together.

Peaches there and her 'sister' Kiki were my first cats. I'm not sure I have any pics of Kiki on this phone, she passed first, but she was a sweetheart lap cat. Poor thing died of saddle thrombosis. It was a horrible, horrible painful death. I still feel awful about it. I had so many fights with the wife, she absolutely refused to let the cat be euthanized. I was left taking care of a dying cat who was shitting everywhere and generally covered in her own foulness at the end. I'd put a towel on my lap just so she could sit on me.

When I finish my bowl of green pea and Spam soup I am going to take a nap. That's when our 2 cats are going to start fucking with me. They will hiss at each other for a few seconds and then bed down on either side of me. It would be OK if they didn't purr so loud.
