Zinc Oxide was used in old formula exterior house paints. It needs to be blended with Titanium Dioxide to make a white with good hiding. About 8%, of the total pigmentation, of zinc oxide helps block the growth of mildew and mold to a great extent. It's usefulness goes away over time as it chalks out on the surface. Zinc Oxide will always be useful to humans.
