Has anyone read Helter Skelter (Vincent Bugliosi)?

I had to call in my 20% rule and shelve it today. After a really good start (the crime scene descriptions) it just becomes a maze of names and micro detail. I am interested to see if anyone else has read it and what your thoughts were on it?

I read it right after I saw the movie. SInc it is written by the guy who prosecuted Manson, it is a really good account of what happend

After which movie? I might watch it and then go back to the book. I just found it really hard to get into since I don't have a lot of background knowledge on the events.
