Absolutely absurd, I love it.

Natto > Naruto, but I like it.

Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village.

I take it manga is a type of comic book. Had a friend who supplied me with grocery bags full of comic books as a kid (his mom had connections), but none from Japan.

Natto > Naruto

What is Natto?

I take it manga is a type of comic book

Yes, that is correct.

Natto is fermented soybeans, notable for the whitish stringy sticky goo that covers them.

Nattō is a traditional Japanese food made from soybeans that have been fermented with Bacillus subtilis var. natto.

The physical appearance is disgusting, as is the taste to some, but it's an 'earthy' flavor with a delicious essence that's difficult to describe. There are various strains, but there's no middle ground between loving it and hating it.

Oh, okay. Odd to mention food on an animeme post with nothing to do with it.

On another note, are you the account voting my replies to you insightful and fun? It seems unlikely anyone else knows about the replies to this so soon.

Natto/Naruto... Very similar.

Yes, your post is a year old, but a reply to it appeared in s/all/comments a bit ago.

I take it the first paragraph means that you mentioned it simply because its spelling was similar? Looks odd to me.

Then how am I getting three insightful votes? Given that an account can only vote insightful once, there must be another account in addition to yours voting.

Yes, my recent thoughts of natto caused the alliteration to catch my eye, so to speak. I mentioned bringing natto to that "what will you bring to the saidit picnic" post, just a couple days ago.

As for both of our upvotes, these replies passing through s/all/comments have probably attracted a few clicks, in addition to the user that first brought this post to my attention in the same way.

I haven't seen that post, thank you. Odd as I have been scrolling through Saidit's front page for some time even if I haven't been logging in often. I guess it's unpopular?

Your explanation makes sense. Thank you.
