Well let's see, we got:

Property Tax

Income Tax

Sale Tax (HST)

On gas we got:

Federal Excise Tax $0.10 /L

Provincial Tax $0.0847 /L

Carbon Tax $0.115 (Going up until 2030 I think.)

We add all this onto the regular price of the gas then we add 15% HST on top of everything. That's right, we tax the tax baby! ~$0.20 more.

A case of beer is $36 for a 15 pack. (Good chunk of that is tax)

All the other "fees" like driver license renewal, vehicle registration yearly, waste pick up (not part of property tax) and god knows what else I'm missing.

Point is they have run out of things to tax. So now we are taxing things based on "environmental impact." You can't argue or get upset with that can you? I mean come on, you hate the planet or something?

This is nothing more then their newest revenue stream and I love how they sold this as a neutral tax and you would receive rebates to offset the cost. Never bought that for a second. So many fucking stupid people who think/though the government was being honest. Most Canadian house holds will pay thousands for this. This scam is right up there with carbon offsetting.

I'm predicting a meat tax in the next 5 years!
