Yeah I can certainly see why the Aussies would want the deterrence, but it does seem problematic if your own government and people are not allowed to even know about them, let alone consent to the arrangement, even if I happen to agree that the arrangement is probably in their interest. That is the conditions of a vassal, not a sovereign nation

    I made a point to say that we don't really know who's in charge down there. Could be Muslims, they are very rich and very powerful. Definitely could be China most likely is China. I'm sure Indians from India have a strong foothold in Australia.

    For you to just make a firm decision that it is China and China only, isn't that kind of narrow thinking?

There are U.S. nukes in Australia to deter the Chinese, it is inconceivable that China is in charge and wants those nukes there. Australia is USA's bitch, definitely not the Chinese or the Muslims

      Sure, and in what capacity does it make sense that China would WANT USA putting a bunch of nuclear weapons close to where they operate in the south pacific? Answer: it does not make sense, China would not want our nukes closer to them. Therefore China would not make Australia let us put them there. So the fact they did, suggests that we, not China are the masters of what Australia does. If you want to suggest otherwise you would have to make some very unlikely or ridiculous assumptions
