EU takes a hard line on Britain trade deal while going soft on China. Eurocrats have always been very tough on subsidies, on the level playing field and because they want to protect European markets and European industries - unless it's the Chinese.

Cheap shit coming in creates the illusion of a high standard of living. A high standard of living wins votes.

China is a serial human rights abuser and is committing genocide right now. There is no way a state with high moral standards like the EU should be doing any deals with them whatsoever. They should be sanctioning China, not rewarding it.
