Someone said it already but these ideas/movements are manufactured to further the agenda of a global tax on industry via carbon credits. It doesn't solve the problem of pollution/deforestation, it's simply another taxation method being proposed to force oligopolic markets where only the select few corporations can pay these credit taxes. Imagine getting an allotment of carbon but you can pay your government more money to pay for monopoly credits to cover the cost of your "carbon footprint" i.e your pollution rate. It's absolute nonsense and the people that buy into it via this logic of it being a product of the oppressive patriarchy are straight up fools championing their own demise.
