Japan is doing the smart thing. Importing third world immigrants to replace the rapidly declining populations of the first world isn't sustainable, even if every single one of them became a productive member of society. Fundamentally, you have to fix the issues plaguing your own demographic if your country is to be sustainable in the long term.
