For those who don't know - there's a global push to purge Chinese components from 5G networks, and beyond.

Huawei wasn't bowing (low enough) to US/aipac demands for a total boycott of Iran, so off the market they go.

Not a good day for the free market concept.

Another factor is surveillance, of course. Only NSA-approved equipment will be used in western 5G networks, for our own safety, I guess.

Totally not related, probably: China just re-sentenced a Canadian citizen to death after appealing a 15 year prison sentence for drug smuggling.

Robert Lloyd Schellenberg was given a 15-year jail term in November but, on Monday, a court said the sentence for drug smuggling was too lenient.

Not sure how this is any business of the US, except for them wanting to please China
