I really have no idea. I think Spain will be forced to grant Barcelona some degree of independence. But it'll probably be like Hong Kong is to China and not totally free. Some kind of special administrative region that grants extra freedoms. That'd be my guess.

Separate currencies? Separate tax? Hong Kong is quite different to China in terms of freedoms/rights.

Not separate currencies, but probably (mostly) separate laws and (mostly) separate taxes. That would be my guess.
