I don't have hate for many things but anyone that kills another animal for sport and not use is pathetic. 🗑

Sanctioned trophy hunting managed by wildlife preservationists is an excellent way for reservations to generate income and cull their animals for proper management. It's allowing wildlife management personnel to literally have someone come in and pay a job they'd have to do themselves anyway.

Don't knock sanctioned trophy hunting. It's a useful thing for the betterment of the overall animal population.

U mean paying to get your rocks off to kill and trophy hunt?

Let the local population take care of it then. Not to exploit for animal killers.

This is how the local population takes care of this. Until professional hunting became the norm, the local population killed entire herds. Poaching was constant and threatened to eliminate the animals entirely. By charging for hunts, the local population can afford to hire people to protect the herds from poachers. This makes the animals more valuable to preserve as income for the local population. Otherwise, the only value these animals have to them is their meat.

What does that say about the one who pays for the thrill of the kill?

He's not interested in any of the reasons you just mentioned. His insta account shows his motives.

It's one thing to hunt with a party for moose or deer, skin it, gut it and have resources for months. To travel halfway across the planet to kill large beasts in a controlled environment as u mentioned shows his true motives.

[–]TemporarilyDeceased 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

His motives are irrelevant. No matter the motives of a hunter, his actions help the animals and the people in the community.

His actions got him eaten. His motives are what made him a pos and what I was originally commenting on.

We really need a "dumb" rating on this site...

Their killing for use and not sport.

[–]Dregan 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

From the article..

The hunter is well known for his Instagram account, in which he often shares photos and videos of his hunts, particularly of lions.

The old males kill the young.

They get culled for wildlife management.

These hunters pay several hundred thousands of dollars to be the ones to kill these animals.

The money goes to wildlife preservation.

If this guy was a poacher, they kill poachers on sight.

[–]Dregan 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Is that why he has several vids of him hunting lions?

Does he do it to help the preservation?

Not sure why you're defending him paying several thousand dollars to kill animals.

He got what he deserved and hope the pride ate well.

In Africa, the professional hunter, is what we would call a guide or outfitter in US. His job might even be similar to being a game warden in the states.

The person paying thousands of dollars is the client. The hunter is guiding the client.

It was a terrible article, but I think the guide was killed. The client in the video clip appears to be a young woman.

I have not looked at his videos, so couldn't speak to his motivations.

Do you think animals never have to be culled due to illness, crop damage, or predation of livestock? The locals will benefit from the meat that is harvested. The money for licensing will fund local conservation efforts.

He wasn't the one paying thousands if he was the professional hunter, and has a first hand role in conservation. If he was the one paying thousands then he is a benefactor of conservation.

No one's disputing animals at times need to be culled or can be a threat to nearby populations.

It's the motives of the individual who has made previous vids of killing lions. He's not there to help, he's there for a thrill kill.

The situation worked itself out.

You don't know the whole story from this shitty article, and you're projecting what you think his motives are.

[–]Dregan 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I'm going off what the article says. It may be all bullshit but if it's true than I stand by my convictions. Especially the part of him posting his pics and vids of the animals he's killed.

The guy's a pos.

    So brave. 😅
