Czech people are very experienced in guerilla warfare.

They were the first ones to protest the Soviets, so they needed tanks to suppress them. They also plotted the assassination of Heydrich.

If any Eastern European countries fascist puppet government installed or at least supported by US puppeteers is overthrown by its actual citizens, my best bets are:

Poland, Hungary or Czech Republic.

I wouldn’t count Hungary as having a US-controlled puppet government. Hungary is neutral on the Russia-Ukraine war, did not impose sanctions against Russia, and is actually rejecting US-backed LGBT ideology. Obviously, Orbán and his government are not perfect, but he stands up to the EU and NATO.

But God speed Czechia and Poland.

Orban is tolerated as long as he doesn't switch sides by US deep-state, I suppose.

They don't really care what or who put him into power, as long as they can influence him well enough.

my best bets are: ... Czech Republic

Probably not. Our society today is kind of lax today... we'd have to be in a really big trouble for anything to happen

Wait for inflation and winter. :-)

Germany and France eagerly do.

Yeah I'm expecting more protests... no riots though. There are local elections soon though so politicians are probably kind of worried anyway

I bet mainstream news doesn't cover it at all just like all public unrest because they don't want it catching fire

They won’t. If I told my parents there were riots in Prague, they’d be shocked.

It was covered in the local media, everyone knows about it here. I think that Reuters and others covered it too

edit: yeah this is the Reuters article, didn't care about the link lol

Are RTÉ and Virgin News covering it?

They did though the Czech public TV was paying less attention to it than when there were their favorite demonstrations taking place. Still it left a pretty big impact I'd say. Sad to see that this was organized by people who would be glad if we all sucked Putin's dick.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala, who leads the centre-right, five-party coalition, told CTK news service on Saturday that the protesters did not have the country's best interests at heart.

Goes to show again and again how out of touch politicians are. How is it in the best interests of regular people to freeze to death just to stick it to Putin?

He said that the organizers didn't have the country's best interests at heart, but it kinda looked like he wanted to dismiss the situation, which was a bad move.

I hope the protests keep coming.

Our government just put a price cap on gas and electricity so we'll see.

[–]RedEyedWarrior 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

This is going to reduce the supply of gas and electricity. Russia and the Middle East want to be paid for the products they sell.

[–]neomarxist_bullshit 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

So far the government will pay for anything above the price cap. Also Russia is allegedly not sending gas to Europe anymore

Good for Russia, they will sell to China and be happy

[–]neomarxist_bullshit 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

And China will then sell to us. It's cringe honestly

Prague dweller here, I was there and stuck around for a while.

This protest was organized by pro-Russian people who said they want to leave EU, NATO, and suck Bolshevik cock (we had a 40 years' experience with that unfortunately). I am very much against the EU but these people are likely literal Putin's agents.

Not sure about the crowd, some were likely pro-Russian but many were there probably because they just dislike everything costing so much, so I'm not surprised they came, because our incompetent government has been doing nothing or making the situation even worse so far.

Most Czechs consider what Russia is doing evil and there is enormous support for Ukrainians.

Thanks, it's nice to have some local perspective.
