Even though many may have aversion to the term 'clown world', I would bet that a majority of Americans believe that our current trajectory and timeline is very messed up.

yep - a trajectory of development since the time of Reagan, if not earlier, of money in politics that screws over the 99%. I've watched this develop with anti-democratic politicians. I call it corruption and treason, rather than clownworld. Nothing clown-like about it, IMO.
