SJW, however, is bound at the hip to the welfare state. I see no evidence yet that the French are ready to abandon the state as their "parent figure" to take care of them when times are rough. Without a recognition that "woke" is merely the most extremely refined version of welfarism we have witnessed in modern times, this kind of think tank will lead nowhere.

Wokism and France's welfare state have little in common. SJW thinkers have a different set of values. They say race, color, gender do matter, because people have different lived experiences depending on those factors, and so public policies need to differentiate between different groups. Treating everyone equally is obscenity to them.

While France is all about liberty, fraternity, equality.
