What surprises me about the whole thing is that no one is talking about nukes. It is almost guaranteed that Taiwan has nukes, yet I have not heard anyone on either side acknowledge it. It's painfully obvious that the reason China hasn't invaded yet is because they know the US has given Taiwan some sort of nuclear tipped missiles if not nuclear capable subs.
