I make this every year.

You make it for Bonfire Night (also non PC) but you have to make it weeks in advance so it goes sticky. The antibacterial properties of the sugar are what allows it to last that long.

Being able to preserve food this way probably saved thousands of lives in West Yorkshire when mill workers often starved to death in the streets at the same time the factory owning middle class were patting themselves on the back for outlawing slavery.

This city council has no right to exist. Abolish it immediately, by any means necessary.

So, "don't eat this cake today because someone a few hundred years ago may have baked a loaf of it that had sugar made by slaves".

I'd say this was beyond the pale, but it's actually exactly the same argument the wokies use to try to make white people apologize today for people's actions of ten generations ago.
