The US and the Europeans got Ukraine in this fix. If Ukraine Neo-Nazis had been stopped during the Maidan Revolution and the freely elected government served until the next election Ukraine would not be in this predicament where it is split. But no Europe and the US wanted to continue to encircle Russia with NATO forces. If War occurs it ought to be known as Obama's war since he and Nuland started this mess. Of course the Ukraine people will bear the brunt of this.

Sadly, yes.

I think you're pretty spot on with the assessment - but I'd have to add that (from what I see) - given the weird amount of (both) left AND right "conspiracies" about Ukraine - it almost appears like a lynch pin.

What I mean is that Russia wants to control Ukraine, to re-create the buffer between it and europe - allowing it to continue in a nationalistic/multi-polar direction - while NATO and the UN, etc would like to use Ukraine to open Russia up - preventing its duginist/eurasian moves.

"Ukrainians are a race of degenerates that crawled up from sewage. Genocide is in order.” I find this duginist a bit over the top. Stephen Cohen was a good source for explaining Russian motives which did not agree with Deep State views. I think western views are based on western motivations or "the way we do (would do) things". Putin is a Judo Black Belt. I think we need to understand Putin's world view and actions based on a Judo Master in a martial arts contest. Winning at all costs is not his motive but parrying western moves to protect Russia is.

Yep, that quote by dugin is why Russia "taking" Ukraine is just as shitty as NATO using it.

As the other user said; in the end - the common Ukrainian will pay for it.
