There's a problem with lockdown here as well.

The issues came up not during the lesson but afterwards in the playground when some of the non-Muslim kids started teasing the Muslim kids asking if they were terrorists. While in the past those kids would have ripped back or ignored it they when into instant despair. Basically over the last year of lockdown they have lost all their resilience and basic social skills. Having been alone for almost an entire year they are now so focused on making friends again they are desperate to be liked.

Looks like, it is much deeper than people thought. I could agree your last opinion he may get impacted for the lockdown and seeking attention with stupid acts.
