While I'm not convinced that the pandemic originated thanks to an intentional lab release of any sort, so that needs to be remembered as I continue, I find Fauci to be remarkably similar to Dr. Ishii, since Fauci oversaw the transfer of research labs from the US to China

https://nypost.com/2020/04/29/dr-fauci-backed-controversial-wuhan-lab-studying-coronavirus/

Dr. Anthony Fauci, a member of the coronavirus task force, had previously backed funding for a controversial lab in Wuhan, China, that has been studying the coronavirus in bats, reports said.

Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases had shelled out a total of $7.4 million to the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab — which has become the focus of theories about the origin of COVID-19, according to Newsweek.

The National Institutes of Health, which oversees the NIAID, shut down all funding to the lab last week.

The defenses they had were also retarded

The NIH defended its funding of the lab in a statement to Newsweek.

“Most emerging human viruses come from wildlife, and these represent a significant threat to public health and biosecurity in the US and globally,” the statement read.

Yes, by that logic all of the Soviet bioweapons were also just "from wildlife", since that's where they originated, and those animals were the reservoir for viral experiments. Like the Soviet stockpiles of smallpox, if accidentally released, could have easily been attributed to a zoonotic virus from chickens:

...The first smallpox weapons factory in the Soviet Union was established in 1947 in the city of Zagorsk, close to Moscow.[3] It was produced by injecting small amounts of the virus into chicken eggs. An especially virulent strain (codenamed India-1967 or India-1) was brought from India in 1967 by a special Soviet medical team that was sent to India to help eradicate the virus. The pathogen was manufactured and stockpiled in large quantities throughout the 1970s and 1980s.

The important thing in my mind is that the research journals specifically stated how the virus was poised for human emergence back in 2015/16

Nowhere near enough attention is paid to how the Japanese biowarfare program operated

Ishii wasn't a public military officer, he was a Japanese Surgeon-General with good credentials

And he wasn't leading the "biological warfare station", he was leading the "Epidemic Prevention and Water Purification Department"

Take a look at the title of that group, that sounds like a positive pro-social group doesn't it?

"Epidemic Prevention". Yet in retrospect we know how the group functioned and what they did.

But post-WW2, our own experimental groups took a different organization structure, adding on many more layers to information-compartmentalization. The MKUltra project for example involved a ton of unwitting researchers who did genuine research into human ailments like headaches, and mental disorders, with 0 awareness they played a role in a larger more malicious program. The politico piece doesn't really detail that part, other than censorship and restriction of information:

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2019/09/15/cia-fort-detrick-stephen-kinzer-228109

Some scientists outside the tight-knit group suspected what was happening. “Do you know what a ‘self-contained, off-the-shelf operation’ means?” one of them asked years later. “The CIA was running one in my lab. They were testing psychochemicals and running experiments in my labs and weren’t telling me.”

The actual organization was a bit more devious, for both the victims and many of the (unknowing) aids of perpetrators

...Despite Allen Ginsberg’s insistence, Kesey did not believe that the project was sponsored by the CIA, and not until decades later did Kesey discover the program’s true intent: “[The testing] wasn’t being done to try to cure insane people, which is what we thought. It was being done to try to make people insane—to weaken people, and to be able to put them under the control of interrogators.”

So by extension as we understand all of these details, we can conclude that a hypothetical "bioweapon" program existing today would function the same

I'm goign to re-emphasize though I've seen 0 indication of covid being some sort of intentionally released malicious experiment, but I gravitate towards suspecting it as the result of an idiotic (and unreported) lab leak

The entire reason those labs were relocated (as directed by Fauci) from the US to China was to get around safety regulations. Despite our own safety regulations, many of our own labs have had near-catastrophic accidents already, and it was precisely these (IMO underwhelming) "restrictions" researchers wanted to avoid by relocating labs to China

And also, the post is correct. There is literally no incentive to prevent (or even reduce the harm of) future pandemics by these researchers, and the research groups are virtually unaccountable already, with critics being smeared as "conspiracy nuts"

Other much more easily visible biological anomalies from gene-editing programs already get effectively protected by MSM, with critics attacked as "conspiracy nuts", even when they objectively fuck up like this case:

I don’t think this is cause for alarm at all. China has had multiple outbreaks due to hygiene and lots of people. The SARS virus is living in bats there. Our country should investigate research into these types of diseases. Public health, I think, is the main thing we need to globally cooperate on. I don’t think this shows Fauci is corrupted by China.
