Because they don't see it as being mean, I would guess. People are able to justify some of the most ludicrous things to themselves, especially if they're not mentally well to begin with

How can gang raping a four year NOT be mean!

Still Kavanaugh had to put his hand over the mouth of Christine Ford to keep her quiet and it just makes him mad to be reminded. These rapists surely had to do the same to keep this child from crying out. Maybe the child's cries just made them mad.

Thinking like "The world is just a cruel place, therefore I can do what I want" or "I deserve to be able to do this because I endured suffering too so what goes around comes around" or something like that was filling their minds, I'm sure. No one is the bad guy in their own life story.

I'm very self critical about not being a vegetarian. So I'm the bad guy in my own story.

You're right, it's not mean, it's being heartless. They violated a four-year old child, for Chrissake! Mentally ill or not, a four year old girl was still gang raped and defiled. It will change her life forever. How can people do that?! Oh and please, enough with the "they're mentally ill" excuses. They were evil pricks, is what they are.

I didn't say they're not evil. Mentally ill and evil aren't mutually exclusive. Of course what they did is evil.

Of course, but the fact that this happened while the girl is in the intensive care is just beyond evil! Don't care if any or all of them are mentally ill. This child will have to live with it for the rest of her life. That's disheartening.
