Part of me wonders, given that these immune effects generally result from testosterone fucking with the immune system, if one-time injections of estrogen during infection would improve outcomes. Obviously it'd do nothing long term, nor really complicate anything, but if these issues ultimately relate to testosterone as an immunosuppressant perhaps temporarily suppressing it instead would help? Any articles pertaining to hormonal immunotherapy?

Propaganda.

...That testosterone functions as an immunosuppressant? Literally one of the reasons women have less severe autism, and less in terms of rates of autism, is a significant factor of estrogen receptors and estrogen passively reducing inflammation in the brain. Men get sicker because of testosterone from viruses like the flu.

Seriously, what is it with you people? Is your masculinity so fragile you think therapeutic temporary reduction of testosterone, if in fact my hypothesis is correct (and I've no idea that it is), emasculates you? Christ that's pathetic.

As best we can tell autism is caused by your own immune system attacking your body, which runs directly contrary to your claims.

Um. No? ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, not an autoimmune disorder. Where do you get this nonsense? You have no idea what you're talking about.

That is the symptom, what is the cause?
