Since about a week now (afaik) there is a war going on in the Caucasus mountains. Erdogan has expanisionist intentions so he supports the muslims in the "reacquisition" of the Republic of Arzach which declared its indepence from Azerbaijan in the beginning of the 90ies of the last century.

Arzach is mostly populated by christians and supported by Armenia which is mostly christian. This is a very complicated situation because Armenia and Russia are actually allies by contract but the Armenians haven't called upon Russia in this conflict so far.

I suppose Erdogan does this to divert attention away from the fact that his inner politics in Turkey over the last decade were and are a complete fail.

I even read there a Syrian warriors fighting there on his side which he recruited during his invasion of northern Syria and they are having difficulties in fighting because their support is very bad and the Arzachians fighting there are very well schooled in guerilla tactics.

It is only a question of time for this conflict which is actually fought between Turkey and Russia for some years now to escalate further. Germany blocked EU sanctions against Turkey despite the insane warmongering of this megalomaniac idiot. Fun fact (in this context): At the same time Germany lobbied in EU council for putting sanctions onto Belarus for alleged election manipulation (after Cyprus (the Greek Cypriots mostly) blocked these in revenge for not putting sanctions onto Turkey for several weeks). Sanctions against Belarus got through.

He is an idiot because he fights two wars he never will win especially not against the Kurdish population in northern Syria. These are the same Kurdish fighters that fled over the border to Syria either to fight with their brothers against the invaders from any other side or they fled from Erdogan pursuing them in Turkey. Above that he isn't nearly anywhere close to be able to pay for all this. I suppose they will soon beginning dropping the rightmost zeros on the Turkish Lira every year or so soon again, like it was in the 90ies.

Putin tried many times so far to deescalate this conflict by demanding a truce and US administration doesn't give a fuck about this war because there is not much you can rob in resources in this region, speaking of Arzach itself.

This also exemplifies once more that the US administration doesn't give a fuck about peace, freedom or "democracy" when they can't see any profit for themselves in it. I suppose they just will start selling weapons to both sides through backchannels if they even didn't already. For Turkey at least this is a known fact.

One could imagine some parallels between Erdogan and Hitler now most latest. Because Hitler also "testet" his war machine in Spain before going into an all out war. The real problem is that Turkey is a NATO-member (so the same table the Greeks sit at: Just think of the situation in Cyprus or the religiously mixed population in all the other countries nearby) so these two regional wars could become bigger very quickly.

Like every forest fire it starts with only one or two sparks needed to ignite the whole forest.
