He said that the epidemic is the result of moral decay, not that everyone who gets sick is gay. As for the veracity of his statement, governments around the world have outlawed litanies, yet allow gay "pride" events.
As usual, the gay lobby started threatening with lawsuits and even twisting the meaning of what he said.

Well, he's, um, sorta right...? If the west wasn't so greedy, lending all their things to the Chinese to save a couple pennies, we wouldn't be in this mess.

That is a good point. Products that used to be manufactured in America and Europe are now made in China, "because they are cheaper". Products did not cheaper though, but shareholders did get an increased return on investment. But thousands of people have lots their jobs and economies are more vulnerable now.
