Here's what I don't get. On one side are backwards religious hillbillies. They refuse to adapt to a changing world, have no job skills, and react violently.

On the other side is a government of rationalists. Educated people who are scientists and engineers, atheists who know the sky fairy doesn't exist. They are reacting by helping the hillbillies become educated, learn job skills for the 21st century, and if they don't want it they are forced, for their own good.

Why are we on the side of the deplorables and not on the side of the smart people?

As an American i am for freedom, and one of the most sacred freedoms in America is the freedom of religious practice. If people don't want to evolve, that's their right. Nobody should be forced into it, especially not in such a way as forced labor camps. You're acting like these camps are fucking technical schools. They aren't.

The hillbillies are learning skills that will help them find jobs after release. They're also being shown that their religion is bullshit. By a government of smart people, atheists.

As an American, you want to, what, invade China or something? The world hates world police BS. Americans have been told to back the fuck off and stop bullying many many times.
