They fired him for spreading a letter around that he wrote "to his commanders" but then passed it around like a groupie at a rock concert. He basically said that the corona virus has crippled our navy and that the carrier needs to be evacuated. Then the whore letter he spread to everyone got out to the media. Pretty fucking irresponsible at the very least.

I believe people in the army who go to the media without the permission of their seniors would definitely meet some kind of reprimand. I don't imagine they terribly like media attention

I guess soldiers are paid to die for their country if needed. But they shouldn't die foolishly, and their superiors shouldn't ignore their concerns.

No one there seems to understand how the military has it's own rules and literally it's own law.
