Wow this is no good.

How exactly were they getting money through stripe though? People were making credit card donations through stripe to bitchute or something?

Funny they blame "archaic and frankly antiquated views" as the main problem, but stripe is a business that makes its money on innovating new ways to do transactions. Sounds like an excuse to me.

if i understand it right, stripe is saying that about their unnamed upstream processor (visa or whoever that might be)

Right, but that company still chose to invest in stripe, which itself is an exploratory type of new company. So obviously they're not that archaic and antiquated.

I still don't get why they need to process credit cards in the first place
