Just how cold could it be?

The country’s lowest temperature this year was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius (40.1° Fahrenheit) early on Sunday in Tetulia, a border town in Bangladesh’s north, the weather office said.

...Okay. That is pretty cold. Especially considering the climate.

In general, maximum summer temperatures range between 38 and 41 °C (100.4 and 105.8 °F). April is the hottest month in most parts of the country. January is the coolest month, when the average temperature for most of the country is 16–20 °C (61–68 °F) during the day and around 10 °C (50 °F) at night.

I'm guessing the houses are just not prepared for the cold.

Not just houses but clothes too. They live in a tropical climate. 10 degrees celcius at night? Thats really hot where I come from.

Once you include things like malnutrition and lack of health care, you realize that although 4 degrees doesnt seem that cold, it will kill you if you havent had enough to eat or live in a wet, unhygienic environment.

edit: I just realize that my clothing was made in Bangladesh. How ironic.
