The more technology we have, the more we start being disconnected from the reality, though there's another reason to this and it's pretty much time changing us. We rarely go outside, talk with anyone and stuff which also makes us notice less. Might be also that we don't want to notice certain things, but you're never sure.

I feel they don't want to in "here",they are going to their wonderland through their cell phone.
