It's not that people think there's any justice in this case. Nobody has ever believed that. They just don't care. That in itself is the greatest condemnation of the population in the west. In the face of brutal injustice, we just don't care enough to do anything about it.

I think it's more that we feel like we have no power to change it. Those who don't care aren't in the know because it doesn't get attention. Remember how the Roger Waters event he held to raise awareness about Assange was met with total media silence a couple of years back?
