Daniel Ellsberg, Alice Walker and Noam Chomsky answer their question in the opinion essay. The Biden Admin inherited the Assange case, which is a decade old, and technically, three decades old. Assange has been very helpful to the 99%, but has also helped the enemies of the US. This latter issue must be addressed. One could argue that he's already served the maximum sentence in house arrest and in Belmarsh. I would think he's served his time, but don't know enough about the hacking that helped Russia.
