For those who don't see the link between the nazis occupying Palestine trying to exterminate brown people because they believe themselves to be superior, and the nazis in Ukraine trying to exterminate Russian people because they believe themselves to be superior, both supported by the US reichempire and its vassal states, hey look, it's all coming together, as was to be expected if you were paying attention.

But keep believing that it's about Wall StreetHarris vs Wall StreetTrump.

The topic is emotional for a lot of people, and I respect that, but please don't expect me to be emotional about the Middle Eastern conflicts, or to take sides enthusiastically. My sympathies are obvious — Lebanon is a friendly country (both to Russia and, well, in general), Hezbollah has been a good ally in Syria, the Syrian government is a close and important Russian ally, we have a complicated strategic partnership with Iran. Israel has decided to abandon its position as a reliable diplomatic partner in the region and instead chose to sever its (perhaps undeserved) ties to Russia and become as much of an adversary to us as its own strategic interests permit.

They have gone as far as sending aid to the Kiev regime and permitting/facilitating the arrival of IDF veterans to fight as mercenaries against Russia. They are also conspicuously silent about certain political trends in Kiev-controlled territories which they usually just love clamoring about when they happen in other countries.

Israel's conduct in Gaza and Lebanon has been barbaric to a degree that must arouse contempt in every civilized person, and objectively they are, and have been for quite some time, the sole agent of escalation.

However, acknowledging all of that does not at all imply that I feel any obligation to participate in pro-Axis of Resistance agitprop, and I don't appreciate being accused of Zionist sympathies simply for giving objective commentary. There are more than enough people who are doing that already; I care about Russian interests first and foremost, and, as time has passed and hardened all of our hearts, my compassion and humanity are mostly limited to the constitutional borders of the Russian Federation.

It is in the Russian interest to help its allies in the region, but it is also in the Russian interest to keep its mediating position — Moscow is the only power that has functional good faith diplomatic relationships with all factions involved in the conflict (from Hamas and Israel to Syria and Iran), and it should leverage that position to further its own strategic interests when possible.
