It's not the state doing this, it's private corporations. A sensible state would crush these people.

When a corporation controls what candidates you can vote for (by enabling some and blocking others), controls what policies and laws those politicians can enact, and controls what you know about all of it, they're not a corporation anymore, they're the State.

It seems hard to avoid anymore. It got popular by gamers. The lie-filled woke-implosion of FreeNoode IRC didn't help by erasing the trusting and reasonable alternative. It seems like crappy monetized chat to me. The Yahoo Messenger of the day. Yet, at least it works and is free.

How about just a damn IRC server? Those still exist and you can run one on a potato chip computer.

Have a privately-hosted Mumble or Teamspeak server on the side if you need to have voice chat, too.

Discord is owned by Big Tech. If you want to use their servers and backbone/hosting you gotta sign on the dotted line. That's only in the US though. Wait until you get greenlighted by the UK and EU - all far left policies regarding "hate speech" must be obeyed. If not, you'll be marginalized and cut off, like Gab and others have been.

When did it happen? If it was this Monday and said it was for some kind of harassment, it was almost certainly for being in the WRD server.

I know this is old, but I just noticed July 12 is the same day WRD received its initial warning. Could be a coincidence though, I really think the warning came from a bot, because I feel like a real Discord employee would've banned the server immediately. There was a hardcore conservative and an incel in there.

Not sure why they went with a centralized service that is known to censor... might as well have created a Facebook group. They should have gone with a Matrix channel or another decentralized option.

the reddit jannies probably reported the discord server. I wasn't active on the discord and I still got that message. Complete bullshit

They have a really stupid guilt by association policy because they're too lazy to actually look into any matters. Anyone who was active had their account disabled immediately.

I don't think it was reddit or they would've banned the subreddit too. Possibly allthefoxes found it and took matters into his own hands. Not sure if he spared N8theGr8 and siouxsie_siouxv2.
