You probably weren't born yet or very young, but a good deal of people fought very hard against the Iraq and Afghani wars. It's not like nobody didn't see through those flimsy excuses for war.

People wanted revenge for 9/11 though, didn't really matter who.

It was 'real' only in the sense that the president was a Republican. I was there too. The antiwar movement shrunk from hundreds of thousands to dozens the day after the 2006 election. For most on the left, opposing the war(s) was a partisan oppo operation.

The unsettling thing about this time around is that there will be no antiwar movement. Maybe some fringe, unreconstructed marxist leninist boomer groups will try, but the core of the left is all-in on war. So there won't be any massively-mobilized antiwar movement. The people who do come out to demonstrate will be ignored by the press, but scrutinized for any trace of a Confederate flag or an associate of a friend of a White Nationalist.

me too, never looked back.. I even started helping and making contributions to the software & the clients as a dev myself.. It's even opening opportunities to work on software I use for me.. Lovely times indeed.

I really doubt those are people with a functioning brain cells (either not people, or the retards) I am relatively new to readdit (few years of lurking), but to me this is unprecedented. Never witnessed such huge crowd of trolls going full at the same time supporting each other.. This incident drove a lot of us out of readdit to seek for alternatives.. There is a good balance in Saidit at least. I think readdit is now what Yahoo chat used to be before it died.. but rather than sex boob bots, they have propaganda bots and trolls.
