I think what Q is referring to is realizing the people here you argue with were generally right, having found yourself on the wrong end of the left today. Gotta admit, that's a big reason I argued against your ban -- I really want to see that, assuming it happens.

Those autobans are some bullshit, but I get around them by not using Reddit. Was there earlier, it's like thousands of you, Socks. You probably love it. But it's a self sustaining delusion, and a harmful one at that.

Thanks for the explanation and for the support (I and others also actively campaigned for you and Carswell to be unbanned over a year ago). For what it's worth, I don't like extremes in politics, right or left. What's happened at CovIdiots seems to be a culling of trolls, much like bots do on other subs, but a dumbass mod at CovIdiots set the bot parameters incorrectly, to look at other subs. (As you would know, I've never had a kind thing to say about anti-maskers or anti-vaxxers, as they selfishly endanger others.) Whatever the bot found was incorrect. In any event, using bots like this is pathetic, desperate, overreach. I cannot remember the last time I saw an interesting or informative post at CovIdiots, nor do I remember the last time I visited the sub, so I won't appeal the case or miss the sub, nor have I commented in it.

Regarding my returns to Saidit, I know that it can be a place for engaging discussions and ideas, even if I do not agree with some of the approaches here (though sometimes /s/all is blanketed with anti-vax and extreme right-wing misinformation, which is dumb, naive and uninteresting). Saidit has more of potential for engagement than much of Reddit. Sadly, Saidit can't keep a diverse audience. Non-fascist users are abused and they leave (I've kept a 'friends' list of some of them).

Regarding political arguments that are deemed 'right' or 'wrong', I tend to value arguments that are instead 'better' or 'worse' rather then judged in black and white terms, unless there are factual errors.

That wasn't the only reason, although I do really want to see you turn to the light side. I mean, you don't strike me as a mental gymnastics kind of guy. Eventually you have to admit these "right wing wackos" keep being right. You can only avoid that so long.

Happened to me too. It's not so bad. The women are a lot prettier!

Not to sound ungrateful - but here is a list of facts and opinions I tend to address on Saidit that are not necessary about being right about the 'right' or 'left'.

anti-vax disinformation > I merely mention facts or locate links to medical science reports (it's easy to do)

transgender > seems to me it's none of my business, or anyone elses, though I've discussed the two transgender people I know

transgender sports or and in toilets > everyone agrees this should be restricted to actual M or F, not M & F

corruption on The Hill > everyone here seems to agree

corruption is equally shared between parties? > no, though this doesn't stop some Saiditors from licking GOP dirty buttholes, so I periodically point out that the Dems are the party of the 99%, democracy &c, whereas the GOP are obviously the opposite

illegal immigration > everyone here seems to agree on the deportation of all of them, as do I

blacks are bad > DAR LOVES this subject, and I've occasionally corrected them with facts that prove them wrong

remove all blacks from the US > another DAR subject, on which I've occasionally disagreed for obvious (I hope) reasons

BLM > some on Saidit think they're terrorists, whereas I've pointed out that 99% of them AFAIK were peaceful protestors

Reddit mods > everyone here agrees that they're often unethical (though this happens on all social media sites)

Biden is old > yes, but a pet rock could have beat Trump in an election

US Capitol attack > seems we don't discuss it

climate change > seems we never discuss it

that says it all man. I voted for Bernie in the 2016 primaries, I can admit it. I used to believe too.
