That's how reddit became popular. It was a place to go and discuss. You could read a post, well cited, click references, learn the truth.

Why is reddit the mainstream?

Because mainstream people are moronic scum. Supporting free speech is a fringe view these days.

I checked, and nearly all the moderators of r/unpopularopinion are actual Communists, some of them even go out and say it. It's obviously just a front for CCP propaganda.

Reddit became like this over time, I think. It seemed as if something extreme happened around the first of the fiscal year, and Reddit threw their hat behind Biden.

Whenever the trumpfs sub was banned, thats when reddit started pushing on the progressive communities too. And forcing mods into communities that don't censor everyone.
