The admin ggAlex made a post about the conference calls Reddit, Inc held with a bunch of powermods. Of course, these were people the company knew the views of, hence why they were invited to participate. Reddit knew none of these people would push for less censorship, more transparency, or anything good or decent. And, of course, they didn't. Instead, they pushed for exactly what reddit was planning on doing all along. And how do we know? Because reddit coordinated with Google, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitch beforehand:

The big social platforms, who were once loath to intervene in matters of political speech, are getting much more comfortable with the idea. The cringy article then goes on to list all the bannings. Importantly, many of these happened at the exact same time - 10am PST. This tends to be when reddit does big sweeping things, so I suspect Huffman was the lead on this, but who knows. Whatever the case, though, it's clear these tech companies had these actions in the works for weeks, if not longer. All the powermods on that conference call could have farted into their phones and reddit would have thanked them and carried out the exact same actions anyway because it was all fundamentally perfunctory. Huffman just wanted to make his free labor feel warm and fuzzy.
