I think the ex ceo of reddit calling for more censorship on the site and when you see news articles like that then you know whats coming.

Yeah, I'm actually surprised at how slow it's been. I expected them to pull a digg.com like 2-3 years ago.

But the fact they're driven by greed and money has become more than clear, so the removal of information that might threaten that income stream was always inevitable. That's basically the whole reason I knew saidit would probably work when d3rr and I first started making it. These waves of refugees will just keep coming and coming, until one day reddit is mostly empty. It honestly seems inevitable, given the lifecycle of previous websites like digg.com, myspace, xanga, etc. The harder they try to monetize, the quicker they unintentionally choke out their userbase by trying to control the information. And they only want to control the information in unreasonable ways because it affects their income.

This is one big reason saidit is run by donations and not advertisements, and why we focus so much on keeping our operating costs down. If we can avoid the bad incentives created by monetary desires, then saidit might have a true shot at being a place of real information exchange. It's working so far!

Its just the size of the site and people use it just out of habit but the user base is slowly bleeding away as activist mods and the endless pushing anti American posts is driving users out its just hard for them too find a new online home.

Yeah I agree, there are many mods that mod like 600 subs, and all the subs push the same messaging, and it's so obviously corrupt.
