I feel like he didn't even see it. Like it was spinning so fast he didn't notice. And he obviously had no idea or remembrance that helicopters have blades on the tail end as well. Damn. What a way to go. At least it looks like it was over before he really even knew what happened.

At the army, we were taught to never approach a chopper from the rear or the front, only and ONLY from the sides. I now understand the reason.

Perhaps there was people around that he was trying to impress. Certain types of guys start doing stupid shit to impress girls. At that moment, he though he could look 'brave' by going near/under the helicopter blades, as if to say "This running helicopter doesn't faze me; in fact, it's in my way and I'm continuing straight in my path just to prove it". In addition, he also didn't duck that much because "Alphas don't crouch too low; gotta stay tall". Combine the two and you get an incredibly dumb and avoidable death.

This is the only reason I could think of as to why someone lack so much self-preservation at that very moment. Not to mention other strange things like the fact that going LITERALLY just half a meter to the left or right would've much more convenient and less dangerous IF he really had to go through the helicopter. It's as if he desperately wanted to go right through the middle of the rear rotors, where it would be the lowest. I know people can be really dumb, but helicopters are loud as hell. It should've sent him some danger signals.
