It is noteworthy that the children were watching the sacrifice of a citizen from the top of an abandoned house, which led to the fall of the roof of the house, which led to the death of the girl child and injuring others.

So they were all watching an execution?

no, the rich people were 'sacrificing' their livestock to give to the poor people, and they were watching the arrival of the livestock.
