Executionheads "popping" off during hanging

i saw on reddit someone mention that when the rope is too long the fall can cause a persons head to separate from their body in a rather violent way and i couldn't help but want to see what that looks like, anyone know any videos?

If the rope was too long wouldn't the person just land on the ground?

all videos of hanging ive seen have taken care not to drop the victims that abruptly, but it is a true thing that happened back in the day when hangings were common and they were hiring the town drunks to be executioners

I heard Saddams was just long enough to shred his neck, but not enough to decap. It's extremely grainy though so its hard to tell.
