If the flight crew is screaming you know you are pretty much fucked. Of course that is not 100 percent. I watched a TV show about a commercial airliner that was flying through a horrible storm. They hit a patch of hail too that smashed the windows to where could not see out. A flight attendant ran into the cockpit to see what was going on and when she opened the door the pilot and copilot were both screaming.

They ended up landing the plane though without anyone getting killed or hurt.

Something similar happened in Ukraine or Russia, I don't remember but the pilot informed all the passengers that they were "descending to their water grave" or something like than when they had to emergency land somewhere in the ocean. Everyone survived

I love this guys videos and X Pilot. It started when I used to binge watch a bunch of 9/11 stuff then i found a simulation of the events from this guy. I'm not a plane nerd or anything, but I do appreciate learning about other industries beside tech. Great stuff.

I haven't listened to this yet, because I see people saying this is the worse thing they've ever heard and that it keeps them up at night. I worry that a) its not that bad and it wont live up to the hype, or b) it really is that bad and I'll be afraid to step foot airliners, just thinking about it.

If you want to be afraid of airliners, it's simple: watch every last air disaster video this guy's made. If you're like me, you have substantially underestimated the total number of accidents.

I binged on that stuff about ten years ago, it only faded from my mind enough to fly a few years ago. People who happily fly, who say you're more likely to die in a car accident just don't get it. IMO, fear of flying is a very rational fear.

In car accidents you don't have as much time to be utterly freaking terrified before you die. I've been in a few. It's just "Oh shit!" crash. I'd much rather die that way than in a plane full of people screaming bloody murder as it plummets into the ground.

True, although supposing a plane crash takes a whole sixty seconds, that's a terrible sixty seconds that probably feels like an hour, but it's a very short amount of time in the grand scheme of things.

I fly on a shit airliner multiple times a year and this wouldn't be the reason I take a xanax. The moscow flight video I just posted I guess wouldn't either. I feel like this stuff is pretty easy to compartmentalize, not trying to be macho. Lots of stuff on WPD can hit hard.
