WPD 2.0 GO!G'day, welcome back!

Heya guys, welcome to the sub.

First and foremost; take a look around the site, starting here. Reddit users will be comfortable with the format here, and older ones will realise that it feels very Reddit circa 2010. also, there is an Android app available through F-Droid and Google Play, currently using it myself: no iPhone app though that I'm aware of sorry. One thing you'll notice is there is no downvote in here; it's either Insightful or Funny. if the comment/post is both, use both! One or the other, just the one. Easy.

The main things I want to point out is twofold; one, The Debate Pyramid. This aligns incredibly closely with how we ran things on the OG WPD so I expect the same here, and will adjust the rules accordingly to compensate with the new ToS.

Second - and some folks ain't gunna like this - there is absolutely ZERO PORN on Saidit. For me, that's refreshing. For those who aren't happy with that, well, we all know how many porn subs are on Eddit.

I've checked in with /u/Magnora7 (one of the 2 admins/co creators of Saidit IIRC) about the ToS and, frankly, IF he wanted us here in the first place. He's cool with it, and compared to what we were used to on Eddit, incredibly approachable. I'll be taking us off s/all like the old one, all posts will be NSFW and perhaps even thumbnails removed. Don't want folk stumbling in.

The sub itself is gunna be a bit bare-bones for a while with the CSS knocked up by Jason Cromwell minus the old tweaks we had, so have a poke around the site and see what's what. I found that browsing by /s/all was the best option with blocking subs you didn't want, and do keep in mind that the site itself is very low population. Hopefully we can change that.

Ok rules; they will essentially be the same as OG-WPD and filled fleshed out in full shortly. In case you're wondering, /u/JasonCarswell was kind enough to create the sub for us (as I still had a time limit on new sub creation) but has said himself he is not interested in moderation, so ping me if needed. Also, for the moment let's keep the ChCh video off the sub. I'm not saying indefinitely, this is mainly so nay sayers opposed to our content don't start up the outrage machine again. When it dies down and they've found a new outrage, it's fine to go up. In the meantime it's over on s/Death.

Finally, keep in mind that while I (and hopefully, you) intend to stay on Saidit for the foreseeable, WPD here is for the old community to congregate while we build Deadit.com, the forever home. Won't be avoided once done, but will probably slow down when it does. M'kay?

So this one called me here. Until now I could say I'd never looked at a WPD post or comment.

I will get around to finish drafting the SaidIt Survey about policies that may apply to NSFW subs like this. Part of the reason I embraced this opportunity with other's I'll include in that post.

Ya the history navigation here is excruciating.

First, because you're new, I would expect that you might want another one or few to make, so don't let me hold you back.

There'a s sudden onslaught of new subs, many of which could use the cautionary banner, but I guess these folks already know all about fringe content and NSFW so maybe my little bubblewrap efforts here were for naught.

I have an entirely new system of determining which subs I intend to make. This week it was pointed out that there are a bunch of subs that are similar while other topics completely missing. I then realized that I needed to separate my hopeful topics from the ones I could actually post to. So now I have bookmark folders counting posts that I have or will post in various topical subs.

I don't know if you want one of those, or if you want to play it safe with something like: Animals, Vehicles, or Sports.

Or more specific but not controversial: VideoEssays, MovieAnalysis, MovieReviews, MovieTrailers, Filmmaking_Screenwriting.

I'm getting grief for having too many subs. I'm not even moderating any of them. I'm just making them and folks are shitting on me for having them. They complain but don't do or make anything. Whatever. Free speech right? Their opinions are valued on a sentence by sentence basis on the merit of their ideas.

I don't need any more subs, but I won't say no if you make any of those in the updated lists above. I'd be fine adding my more readable CSS if you want it and I can make a banner for it. My CSS is almost finished, I need one more day on a few loose ends. Then when it's all done and I'll un-mod myself.

You can wait longer or you can skip it entirely and consider it a gift. Up to you.

So happy to see this risen from the ashes...I was really starting to miss WPD, enoughinternet, gore etc,etc....Reddit just isn't the same without them and I was logging in less and less. Also tried a few of the 'darker' websites out there but they seem to be full of the sort of people I generally try to avoid. It's the comments and therefore the people I really missed from WPD. Great work guys....I am very much IN.

/u/PaigeAP & Greedeater, /s/Death was an empty sub for 3 months since /u/Diplomat started it. Diplo hasn't made a single post on SaidIt. I asked M7D3 if I could be made mod - just to add designs - they said no, maybe because 3 month wasn't enough, maybe because they don't want it to become a thing.

It was empty unitl Robin, host of WikiSpooks.com posted there. Then the WPD ban happened and there were a bunch since this sub didn't exist yet. Death and mortality is one thing but WPD is another, more extreme, and is a good oportunity to develop freespeaches policies democratically.

For example, after a while I'd like to find out what people thing of the banner and applying something like it across all NSFW. Aesthetically Is it too much? Not enough? Bad/good design? Too mod? Better with tabs? etc. Maybe you want a different banner but still want a caution sign in the corner. Maybe you think my caution is stupid or simply unnecessary.

Whatever helps improve Saidit.

Yeh I noticed that. When I made me account here there was three posts on s/Death, most recent being 21 days at the time IIRC. As I mentioned to ya earlier, I knew the community would want to head somewhere off site, and that was the one spruiked on Eddit to begin with - how I actually found Saidit in the first place tbh. That would have to be watched closely as I get the feeling they wouldn't adhere to the Debate Pyramid as rigidly as our usual community will here.

Not at all, and I'm sure folk in here would be happy to give feedback and then can be enacted by popular opinion of the community appropriately. For reference, if you look at the subreddit /r/WatchRedditDie, it is almost a carbon copy of the old WPD CSS - found that out with a laugh when I used me PC to log in one day as I'm predominately a mobile user. I've texted the other ex WPD mods to see if someone has a backup copy of the post quarantine CSS, if they come through I'll shoot it to ya in a PM.

Post WPD Quarantine, we removed the Rembrandt (which didn't have a snoo on it heh, cheeky buggers) and had more of a disclaimer to the material posted instead, as per Admin demand at the time.

Yes, but I sorta did it wrong. I should have asked if you got two notices to come to this page or just the one from below.
