Meanwhile, the mom has already burned to death and is just hanging near the window as the fire rages on in the background. The firetruck finally arrives and the firemen start putting out the fire. In the aftermath scene, you can see the burned child stuck on the metallic enclosure of the balcony.

A MOTHER and a child died in a fire that gutted a two-storey residential building in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The victims were identified as Frencelyn Batol, 36, and a six-year- old who was believed to be the woman’s child, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Quoting witnesses, the BFP said the victims were trapped inside the house where the fire started and reached the second alarm by 6:18 a.m. It was put out by 6:55 a.m.

Firefighters passed through a window to recover the child’s body.

A third victim, identified as Jonel Mandap, 36, was rushed to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center where he was being treated for second degree burns that he sustained in 79 percent of his body. It was not established if Mandap was a relative of the two fatalities.

Damage to property was estimated at P100,000, while the cause of the fire was under investigation.
