Yeah having an 11 y/o on their with all those explosives, the lack of concern for safety is amazing. I know that people with a 3rd world life style take more risks because they have less to lose, but this just seems very unintelligent. And fireworks for a religious event, sure why not.

I don't see how this would be substantially different than transporting fireworks in a car or handling them in a store. More than anything, the guy and his son were unlucky.

Are you kidding? When we do fireworks the crowd stands at least 20 feet away, and one, maybe two pyros will walk up and light the fuses, and that's in an open field or the street, not on a little scooter. And all of the other fireworks are somewhere farther away too, not right beside the fireworks being lit. There was enough explosive there to blow their limbs off, that's seriously nuts.

If you think this is all a matter of luck I'd guess you're not really safety conscious either. There's a saying "there's no such thing as an accident".

It's possible that I am misinterpreting the video. I figured that they were just transporting the fireworks to a remote location to be fired. If they were actually lighting fireworks while on the moving vehicle then I agree that's pretty nuts.
