Purposely avoided “Hindenburg” for a reason.

The interesting thing about that disaster is not how many people died. It's how many people survived.

There were 36 passengers and 61 crew aboard (imagine that today). 97 souls total.

Only 35 people on the flight died. There were 62 survivors. One person on the ground perished.

The reason this was so infamous and terrible was because of the fact that nothing like it had ever been filmed before. And the announcer was so dramatic about the description. "Oh, the humanity!" is a phrase that everyone knows. The film was widely distributed and watched for generations. Probably kids today haven't seen it because they aren't taught history like we were, but I would imagine that there are very few Americans that haven't seen the film or at least a photo in a history book.

I am a Led Zeppelin fan, and it is their debut album cover. They got the matriarch of the Zeppelin family to approve the name for the band, but she threatened to sue after she learned what they put on the cover.
