I mean we could technically change the icons. I've been wanting to for a while mostly because the default icons are low res and ugly, but I also can't design icons so that hasn't gone anywhere lol (and that's also the reason why the icons in Slide are still upvote and downvote)

That's too detailed/has too many colors for my taste. Actually, that got me an idea, for some reason I didn't check for emojis at all, but only svg icon sites. In that case, I'd go for this one and maybe this one. These are svg too so they'll scale nicely everywhere.

Not sure if we should actually change the icon so that it looks like it stands for something that it actually doesn't, that just feels misleading. I'd certainly not be opposed to something less "in your face," though.

can you pick dead white baby for the upvote and dead black baby for the downvote

When its shrunk to 25 x 25 it looks the same as the current laughing face, without the laughing.

Yeah, but if you shrink it to 25x25 (which is I assume the resolution of the current icons) it's going to be blurry aswell. Compare them here to the text next to the icons, for example. Would be great if they could just stay in svg format.
