I would like to become better at posting in this thread.

I'm new to any form of reddit type thread thing and I'm also brand new to posting after recieving criticism on my titles I will no longer make them humorous and I'll try to make them descriptive enough to tell what the video will be about I also want to help the community grow and it seems my former way of posting did the opposite so sorry for that. Does any more experienced user have any tips on becoming a better poster on this thread and what would everyone want me to post? I apologize for the lack of punctuation I'm on mobile so I can barely see what I'm typing.

Thanks for wanting to help out more! Using a good title will help us find old videos in the future so using any keywords that we can search for would be a great help. Take a look at what sites other users are using to repost their videos. I like gfycat, imgur and spee.ch to host any videos I find. But any of the popular sites will be fine.

The sites I get most of my videos from title them with humor or just nothing related at all so I thought that was how we were supposed to do it but, I learned from my mistakes.

Those sites do make them humourous but that's what most of us try to avoid. Imagine coming across someone you know don't on video with a title like that? Those websites are cesspools of idiots

Thank you I appreciate it :) but my last titles were deemed edgy and people didn't like it so I'm attempting to get better, after all I don't want this community to turn into best gores cesspool

For search purposes, I just use the "Suggest Title" button. If the generated title is still vague (ex. "Guy dies"), I try my best to re-title it so that it has the following info.

  • Description of the deceased (ex. Methhead)
  • Method of death (ex. shot while running at)
  • Place of death (ex. Branson, Missouri)
  • Killer (ex. police)
  • Context/time of death (ex. drug raid, Christmas 2014)

"Methhead shot while running at police in Branson, Missouri during a drug raid, Christmas 2014"

OR

"Branson, MO police shoot charging methhead during a drug raid, Christmas 2014"

I try to be descriptive but a lot of times the sources of my vids are not very informative even though they call themselves journalists.

Only post content that you can identify as recent or newly available and that hasn't been posted here yet. If you feel the need to repost or post old stuff, try to bring something new by doing some research, adding press clippings and context. For the title see /u/oozinator1's post above.

What do you mean then don't post? I was just explaining why I didn't punctuate it correctly. And i don't post content that has already been posted, as for research it's usually lacking because the sites I pull them from fail to gather any.

Think they're just being grumpy... and research is hard, there's only a few instances where I've put a vague description of the video into google and managed to find some info.

I appreciate descriptive titles a lot. I also love to read the comments where it's described what happened (+ some sort of personal input)

There are certain things I don't want to see / am not able to stand. An active audience and descriptive titles are a very comfortable way to browse.

I'm actually not here for gore or a desire to see people die, the comments and inputs where always much more important to me personally. Unfortunately we lost a lot of it with leaving reddit

Thanks for the content you put out.

Descriptive titles are useful for searching the video. Bestegore is blocked in my country though I could probably get around that with a VPN. As for quality over quantity, as long as it's 'watchpeopledie' it's fine. Everyone has their own preference so it's hard to determine what exactly is quality. I personally no longer bother with isis videos, cartel videos, webcam suicides etc. Seen those so many times already it's no longer interesting to watch.
