He didn't stop because he didn't know he hit anybody? He yells out in the video calling out puta!

He actually yells out , "hay, de puta." So, it could be 'what the fuck,' as hay translates into there is/there are, de translate into from/of, and puta translates to whore...but when written out the way I wrote it, it translates into "there is/there are, of fucking." I'm not sure where this guy was from, but I've heard what the fuck coming from Mexicans as que chingados.

Four years of Spanish as an elective at UNC-Chapel Hill, but I learned the real stuff interning for Spanish speaking radio station. It landed me a job in management. So, I can't complain.

He's actually saying: "ay, hijo de puta" Very often when it's said very fast sounds something like "ay, ijue'puta" or even sometimes "ay je'puta" if said particularly fast. 'AY' is just like 'Oh' or 'Whoa' in English. So basically what he's saying in the video is "OH! Son of a bitch!" (I come from a Cuban family but that phrase is used in many Spanish speaking countries)

He didn't stop at all. The police found him later. He said he "didn't know he hit anybody" so he kept going. But he clearly yells in the video as he hits the guy. No way he can say he didn't know.

Guy was in the middle of a highway at 2AM. Finding it hard to fully blame the driver.
